7 not 8: Vor+SoS = Sons of Sita: Book 7 of The Ramayana Series

As those of you who have been in touch with me over the years know, I always share my works in progress online with readers and take into account their views and suggestions.

After considering reader feedback to the limited signed AKB BOOKS edition of Vengeance of Ravana I felt it was best to cancel mass market publication of the book and have requested my editors at Penguin accordingly. They have been supportive as always, and I’m very grateful for that.

I’ve taken a part of the text of Vengeance of Ravana and added it to the text of Sons of Sita, merging them into one final book, which I plan to submit to Penguin for publication.

This will be the 7th and final book of the Ramayana Series (R), and will most likely be called Sons of Sita: Book 7 of The Ramayana Series.

PS: Those of you who have ordered the AKB Books Limited Signed edition of Sons of Sita will receive this version, and this is the reason for its long delay. In my opinion, the book now rocks big-time and is a truly fitting end to the series…thanks to your input!

This is just to let you know what’s happening. I’ll post a longer explanation here once I’m done with the revisions, which, let me add, will not be for another month.

This also means that those of you who bought the AKB BOOKS limited signed editions, hardcover as well as paperback, of Vengeance of Ravana, now have the only copies of that version of the text in existence. That version will never be published and distributed in stores now, so hold on to your copies and who knows, they might actually be worth something someday!

    You had earlier mentioned that SOS was likely to be made available in June.With the above changes,is an revised estimated date available ?

    VOR and SOS will not be available even after mid-June? I was really looking forward to reading them!!

    Anchal,

    SoS will be available after mid-June (probably July), will confirm exactly when in a few days. VoR has been absorbed into SoS now, but if you wish to read the original version (which, by the way, is linked to Gods of War and Vortal:Shockwave) then I might be able to offer a few copies again for readers like yourself – also in July.

    Either way, will update next week with more definite info. Thanks for your interest! Don’t forget to vote in the Mba poll! :-)

    Thanks Mr. Banker!! I thoroughly enjoyed the Ramayana series and I hope I can get a copy of VOR and SOS (I definitely deserve them considering the amount of PR I’ve done for the Ramayana series :) ). I did vote for the MBA series and look forward to reading it too!

    Please keep in touch with this website and you will definitely get a copy of VoR and SoS once fresh stocks come from the printer later this month.

    And keep your fingers crossed for Mba – better still, ask any other readers of my work whom you know to come here and vote for it too! :-)

    Hi Ashok,
    Do you know when it may be possible to buy the Penguin Hardcover ‘King of Dharma’ containing both Vengeance of Ravana and Sons of Sita please? You may recall that I bought signed and lined copies of the first 3 volumes from you a little way back and would dearly love to do so for the 4th and final volume if at all possible?

    Nice to hear from you, and yes, of course I remember you.

    As the article above mentions clearly, Vengeance of Ravana is not being published. I have yet to finish the revisions to Sons of Sita to my satisfaction. Only if I’m totally satisfied will I let it be published. But even if SoS is published, it will not be sufficient to make a fourth hardcover omnibus so regardless of whether or not SoS is published, King of Dharma will not be issued. Sorry about that. In any case, even SoS will not be available to readers outside India.
