For reasons that become clear after reading the full story, the events described in this story take place in the year 2000. All references to songs, movies, etc, are appropriate to that year.
Basic Ishtory
It all began when Mikey Vatsal accidentally discovered that new site on the Internet.
The one that asks you to forfeit your soul to the Webmaster before entering.
And which opens a quantum doorway that takes you to infinite alternate versions of our world.
Each time a person opens the Vortal to go through to another world, another person gets shifted into our world, to maintain The Balance.
Now, the Vatsal family is locked in a life-and-death struggle to close the Vortal and restore our world to its normal state.
But they seem to be facing a few obstacles.
Several billion of them in fact.
Meet The Vatsals
Virendra Vatsal: Father, 46, CEO of Virtual Reality Systems Inc., an IT firm that develops software solutions for prime US and European firms. “Vir.”
Sarla Vatsal: Mother, 43, a successful freelance journalist and author of non-fiction books. “Mom.”
Viveka Vatsal: Daughter, 21, fresh college grad, accepted to MIT but wants to set up her own animation portal. “Viv.”
Vaibhav Vatsal: Son, 17, Arts graduate, wants to go to the States and direct blockbuster science fiction movies. “Vhy.”
Mahesh Vatsal: Younger Son, 12, Net nerd, wants to eat home-delivery pizza and surf the Net for the rest of his life. “Mikey.”
