SHOCKWAVE: Book 1 of The Vortal Codex free2read online!
Sep 29th, 2008 by Ashok

The free book-of-the-month for October 2008 will be SHOCKWAVE: Book 1 of The Vortal Codex.
It will be serialized online from Tuesday 7th October with a new excerpt posted daily (every morning before 9 a.m. IST) until the entire book is online, free for all to read. I’m not sure how many days exactly, but I think it will take around 15 days or so to complete the entire serialization.
As with Iron Gods (now titled The Ganesa Palindrome), the excerpts will be password-protected, except for the first two or three excerpts. The password will be sent out automatically.
Once again, I request you to please take a moment to post a comment on the excerpts as they go up. Ideally, if you can post a brief one with the early excerpts—just so I know you’re there and reading!–and one at the end of the last excerpt, giving your views on the book as a whole, I would REALLY appreciate it.
Try to understand that the reason I share these works with you so far ahead of publication (Shockwave isn’t even submitted to my publisher yet, let alone scheduled for publication) and do so free of cost is because I WANT your feedback. Think of it as your polite way of saying ‘thank you for the music’ to me, if you wish.
I will let you know the site address and the password (which may change every few days, though not every single day) on Tuesday the 7th. I will be traveling just before that, so may not be in touch, but don’t worry. If not before, then you will hear from me on Tuesday the 7th October. And we’ll start off together on yet another journey into the vast and mysteriously interconnected worlds of…
Epic India!
(And yes, this book will reveal a little more of the epic saga that you glimpsed in the Ramayana Series and in The Ganesa Palindrome (Iron Gods) - you may even meet, very briefly in passing, one of the same characters.)
As with Iron Gods (and all my work) I will revise, rewrite, and even write sections as I post them. So until the day they go up, I have no clue about the big picture (except the BIG picture), so don’t bother asking me questions—just enjoy the ride, and we’ll all discover what lies beyond the miscoloured rainbow together.
Ride with me!
Ashok
