I had been told about this book…Richa Mohan

hi Ashok

I had been told about the book quiet some time back but i never got down to reading it. Finally i bought the first book and left it in my book reserve for quiet a few months and then I finally read it. And the amazing thing was that not only did I read the first book within no time i bought the next two in the sequel and finished them all within 2 days!! Well i guess everybody on this forum must have had a similar experience but in my case the aversion was purely because i could never relate either to the image of god solving all problems(he obviously can)but also the way i felt women were represented. So when I read this Ramayana and also the relation between sita and ram and the fact that the original could have been inspired from a real life character, it made more meaning and related better to my life. Not only that a story that i know by heart I could not put down was amazing in itself.

I just wanted to know two things, was the original ramayana really so free of prejudices and was Ram projected as an incarnation of god even in that one? and is it true that these events though drramatised to show how ppl should live and to emphasise on certain qualities, inspired from real events?
thanks for bringing it back to life!
