“Dear Ashok,
I had to write to say thank you!!! to understand why, here is some backgroung info:
Our family (me, husband and 3 kids), like to watch a game show called Jeapordy. I am sure it you must have a version of it there. Anyway, to make it more interesting we keep score and play against each other. one point per answer and the point goes to whoever gets the answer first. it gets pretty competitive with my husband and I. We were tied and the last category we 21st. century ballet. Of course the kids called out Swan Lake to every question. HA HA None of us were getting any of the answers until………….. Prince Rama and his demons from the epic the Ramanyana could be found in this country? And thanks to YOU!! I knew the answer to be: What is India? That answer made me the winner for the evening.
Of course I also learned something new. While I have enjoyed your books ( the fourth one was great by the way) I had no idea it was a ballet. Well, better go.” Dawn, USA

Am not sure what you mean but I suppose the Ramayana has been adapted into so many different forms and interpretations, there must be a balletic version as well somewhere out there, probably even an opera for all I know! I think the very profusion of forms and variations proves how very much our’s is a living culture, still so in touch with the past.” Ashok
