Hello Mr. Banker.

I’ve just finished reading “Prince of Ayodhya”, and I’m already wondering how I can get hold of the next book in the series! It’s not as easily available in the USA as it is in India. I have to pay premium prices which I can’t really afford. I will ask in the public library - perhaps I’ll be lucky enough to get “Siege of Mithila” without having to pay for it. In fact I discovered “Prince of Ayodhya” on the library rack. Never thought I would get so addicted to it! It was just a last minute decision - library was closing, it was either that or a romance novel. I made the right choice. :)

I had read the gist of the Ramayana in high school (time didn’t permit me to read the full english translation version). I think you’ve really made it much more accessible to modern day minds, which rarely have the patience to sit through a very long epic story presented in an old-fashioned poem format. I suspect that was probably your goal — that and your natural enthusiasm for telling the tale. :)

Throughout “Prince of Ayodhya” I kept thinking, “Hey! This thing reads like a movie script! I can see it all happening in my mind’s eye as if I’m watching it on a movie screen! Hollywood, collaborating with Bollywood and George Lucas, could really make a blockbuster out of it!”

If any film agents come calling, please, Mr. Banker, don’t turn them away. That’s a film I’d pay $8 to see. :)

One final comment:

I’m 2 days late to return the book to the library. It was worth it to be able to finish the book, even if I gotta pay the late fees.
Keep on writing. You’re good at it.” A reader from USA
